My Nephew wrote this - a reminder of a LONG time ago.

My grandparents were poor. I didn't know it but they were.

They earned $30 a week. Grandpa worked in a block plant,

and Grandma took care of chickens. The man who owned the

plant gave them a rent-free house to live in.

Needless to say, they didn't have many luxuries. But Grandma

had THE RADIO. THE RADIO was made for men named

Hank Snow, Earnest Tubb, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Hank Williams.

Some women; Brenda Lee, Minnie Pearle, were also allowed on.

Naturally, it worked best when tuned to the Grand Ole Opry.

Grandma had Grandpa string an aerial to the big chicken house

for better reception.

THE RADIO had a huge lighted dial, pushbuttons, switches, knobs,

and lights to tell if it was, and if so, what you were listening to.

It was taller than I was, and got almost as much good care. It was carefully dusted and oiled. If a tube went it,

Grandpa had to go uptown to get a new one.

If there was lightening around, it was the first thing to be unplugged.

If I was good, after Grandma and Grandpa listened to

their music, and, Lum and Abner, I could listen to Gangbusters, or

The Shadow. If I was really good I could listen to Tom Corbet,

Space Cadet.

Tom Corbet got me the second worst spanking I ever got. I was

under strict instructions not to touch any of the buttons, dials, or

knobs on THE RADIO; not even the one marked Vol.

However, after one Tom Corbet episode, I thought that THE

RADIO would make an excellent control panel for the jet

boat Tom Corbet was using. Throwing caution to the winds,

I started to use THE RADIOÂ to control the speed and direction

of the jet boat. I have no idea what I did to THE RADIO, but

it took Grandma 2 days to get it back to its original state of

health. She used the yard stick to remind me that I was NEVER

to play with THE RADIO again.

Did Kerik hire Illegal?

Bush nominated Bernard Kerik. had made more than 6.2 million dollars stock options he was granted by Taser International, a manufacturer of stun guns.

Partnering with former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani or operating independently, Kerik has had business arrangements with manufacturers of prescription drugs, computer software and bulletproof materials, as well as companies selling nuclear power, telephone service, insurance and security advice for Americans working abroad.

Some Abstinence Programs Mislead Teens

Some Abstinence Programs Mislead Teens, Report Says

The Washington Post reports that - Many American youngsters participating in $171 Million federally funded abstinence-only programs have been taught over the past three years that abortion can lead to sterility and suicide, that half the gay male teenagers in the United States have tested positive for the AIDS virus, and that touching a person's genitals can result in pregnancy.

The examples of false, misleading, or distorted information in the programs' was discovered in  teaching materials. Among the misconceptions cited by Rep. Henry A. Waxman (D-Calif.) investigators: • A 43-day-old fetus is a thinking person. • HIV, the virus that causes AIDS, can be spread via sweat and tears. • Condoms fail to prevent HIV transmission as often as 31 percent of the time in heterosexual intercourse.

CHINA is promoting the use of condoms to prevent transmission of AIDS.

China bans condoms for family planning products from being advertised. The ban still exists, but condom ads that are aimed at preventing HIV/AIDS are allowed and being promoted.

Tankers

An Oil Tanker hauls 200 MILLION Barrels of oil.

It takes 30 days for the tanker to get from Kuwait to Louisians.

If oil goes up $1.00 during the trip the oil company makes $200 MILLION $$$$$$.

Not a single new refinery was built in the United States in three decades.

WHERE do the Oil Companies spend their money?

They spend a fortune on Drilling, so, why not on Refineries. Could it be they KNOW - ALL they have to do is Raise the price of Gas, to make a LOT more $$$$$?

KERRY

raise the minimum wage from $5.15 to $7.00

1 Create good-paying jobs in America by ending tax breaks for companies creating jobs overseas and cut taxes for 99 percent of taxpaying corporations, enacting a New Jobs Tax Credit to encourage hiring by manufacturers, other businesses affected by outsourcing and small businesses, and leveling the playing field by enforcing our trade agreements and trade laws;

2 Strengthen middle-class families by cutting taxes for 98 percent of families, including

new tax breaks for education,

child care, and health care and cutting health premiums by up to $1,000 for families;

Our plan will allow Americans to access the same range of affordable health care plans that members of Congress get.

3 investing more in research and development,

providing a tax cut on up to $4,000 of college tuition and investing in job training; and

4 eliminating corporate welfare.

BUSH

WILL NOT discuss Condom Education

Done NOTHING to Reduce Gasoline Prices.

Done NOTHING to reduce Energy cost.

About the Pen - this just in from a Reader.

What you saw was a super-secret weapon designed by the CIA in response to the way Bush has been blaming it for all his mistakes. It was a Dumb S… gas dispersal unit.  Kerry sprayed it at Bush, that's why he looked so frigging incompetent during the debate. Don't let the word get out, it's real hush-hush.

Condom Education should be commended, not condemned.

Bushs version of a Condom-less world is deadly.

Bush has said. "We need to tell our children that abstinence is the only certain way to avoid contracting HIV.

It works every time."

It SHOULD NOT be - Condom ONLY or Abstinence ONLY.

This is what - COFED - Catholic Agency for Overseas Development says -

Sadly, all too often the debate over HIV prevention has involved a contest between "condom only" or "abstinence/fidelity only" solutions. These have often been hijacked by political, religious or cultural agendas in turn fuelled by mutual distrust and prejudices. A third, middle-ground approach known as "ABC" - "abstain, be faithful, use a condom" has also emerged.

Condom campaigns have been particularly effective with groups at the highest risk - sex workers, for example - who may have few if any other realistic options for reducing this risk.

But BUSH Will NOT LISTEN

800 million people in the world go hungry every day

The WAY to stop looting after the Florida Hurricane is to SHOOT THEM DEAD.

They should shoot anyone that runs from the police.

In China - Pornographic Spammers get LIFE in Jail. Sounds good to me.

All we hear from the Bush side is - Anti-Kerry. Seems a President for 4 years would be BRAGGING about his accomplishments. But, there have been NONE.

Fallacy of Outsourcing

Outsourcing

Some say - Starting salary for tech Support is around  $30,000 a year plus.  That is a good wage in the U.S.  In India, the same job pays about $12,000 a year, and the person in India, doing the same job,

==========

NO!

That is the Fallacy of Outsourcing.

Think about it

when you want computer support

if you had a choice of 2 techs to talk to.

Which would you choose -

1 - someone with EXPERIENCE WITH the program you need help with

of

2 - Someone that know HOW the program is supposed to work but has NEVER USED THE PROGRAM ON A DAY TO DAY BASIS.

The BEST example of this is AOL. AOL Support (?) is in India. But, AOL is NOT available in India.

Those support people have NEVER used AOL in their Day to day use.

When I call for help with a program I KNOW how to program is SUPPOSED TO WORK.

But, it is NOT doing what it is supposed to do. THAT is why I am calling.

Corporate Robber Barons have cut themselves off from their customers.

They are selling Software that is INCOMPLETE. And, then they want us to PAY EXTRA

to make it work.

In my day that was called Robbery. And, the people that did it we called them CROOKS.

Catholic Church is PRO-AIDS

Condoms

When is the Catholic Church going to care enough about people to USE CONDOM USE???

Bush want us to believe - US world's biggest provider of condoms Powell said that America was the world's biggest provider of condoms for poor countries hard hit by AIDS." We buy more condoms than any other government on the face of the earth or organization on the face of the earth. Under this administration, we have doubled, if not tripled, the purchase of condoms for use in undeveloped nations," The debate over abstinence versus condoms in HIV prevention programs "take us off course," Powell said.

How not to fight AIDS

Palm Beach Post Editorial Saturday, July 17, 2004

AIDS has become an 8,000-deaths-a-day epidemic. Bush administration withholding $34 million for HIV/AIDS prevention and family services that help women and children in poor countries.

US criticized for requiring that one-third of the money spent on HIV prevention be used for abstinence programs of the $15 Billion Aids plan.

NAACP - Bush Refuses to attend. Wonder Why?

Wednesday, June 30, 2004

If I was Kerry and a reporter wanted the Divorce Records - I'd tell them
You send me yours and I'll send you mine.

Just saw this headline on the Internet  'Saddam will be executed'...
Did I miss the trial?

Al Sharpton is going to have a Reality Show - SERIOUSLY.
I hope HE is the first one Voted Off.

Think of ALL the GOOD BET TV Channel could do - If they tried to Educate their viewers.
Instead of that horrible RAP they show now.

Why do Newspapers HATE Walmart? They don't advertise in the papers. If you NEED more proof that the WSJ reporters don't shop at WalMart read the article in today's paper.

Do a Google Search on  - Bush Condoms. Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!
"The second part of a domestic strategy to fight AIDS is prevention. I think it's really important for us to focus on prevention. We can learn from the experiences of other countries when it comes to a good program to prevent the spread of AIDS, like the nation of Uganda. They've started what they call the A-B-C approach to prevention of this deadly disease. That stands for: Abstain, be faithful in marriage, and, when appropriate, use condoms. That's what A-B-C stands for. And it's working. I like to call it a practical, balanced and moral message. I say it's working because Uganda has cut its AIDS infection rate to 5 percent over 10 years. Prevention works." (Applause.)
A - Abstain.    B - Be faithful in marriage     C - Use Condoms, when appropriate.

There are Now 2 USA?s. Bush?s (BUSA?s) and the REAL USA. Why should BUSA?s be exempt from International Law? One of the fears held by the Bush government is that the, International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, ICC might decide to prosecute US military personnel. 2. He invaded Iraq without a consensus of the UN. 3. UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan called on the UN council not to give any nations such immunity any more since this would erode the credibility of the ICC itself.
